Engineering Team

The Engineering Team (ET) consists of the SAO Project Engineer, the Software Specialist, the SAO Lead Test Engineer and other engineering specialists. The Project Engineer, Lead Test Engineer and Software Specialist will be present, as required, at the EOF during the LEOP, TTP and Commissioning and Verification subphase. They will also be on call at all other times and will be present at the EOF as required. The Project Engineer will visit the EOF once per month for two days to interface with S/C personnel and assess the health of the instrument. At other times, he will monitor UVCS housekeeping data and S/C data at SAO. Specific tasks are as follows:

1. Develop new flight software code. Note that the development and verification of flight software code requires the UVCS Test Bench, which will be located at SAO. The ET will provide the IOT with a validated executable code image. The IOT will be responsible for uplink and installation of the new code.

2. Provide support at EOF during experiment switch-on, commissioning and verification.

3. Provide support at EOF in case of failure of mechanisms or electronics during mission operations.
