| Science Focus: CXT: Generation X | ||||
| Artists conception of the future X-ray Observatory "Generation-X". In the background are images X-ray from the Chandra X-ray Observatory. Generation-X is planned to be able to take 10 times finer-grained images, and to have over a 100 times larger mirror so that exposures now taking a day with Chandra, can become few minute snapshots; in that way Generation-X can look far deeper into the universe than Chandra. Developing the mirrors and instruments for this NASA Vision Mission are challenges being undertaken by the CfA CXT, in collaboration with our partners. |
