CF: Who Does What?
 

Gregory Haley is the Department Manager.

Jo-Ann Campbell-Cameron is the Department Administrator and the Moves Coordinator.

The Help Desk is the first point of contact for service and support (cfhelp@cfa, 5-7302); help desk staff will handle your request or refer to a specialist as appropriate. For users, including CfA visitors, with no system manager, CF help desk staff can assist with wired or wireless network connectivity, and email and printing configurations.

The Unix Systems Group supports over 1300 users and provides full system management of over 300 Linux and Solaris workstations and servers throughout the CfA. Support includes hardware and operating system installations, hardware maintenance, application software installs, mail client and server support, NAS storage and backups.

The PC Systems Group provides full system management of over 200 Windows workstations and servers throughout the CfA. Support includes hardware and operating system installations, hardware maintenance, security patching, application software installs, mail client and server support, NAS storage and backups.

The Web Services Group manages and administers both public-facing Web servers, Intranet Web servers, Secure Web servers, a streaming video server, and a scientific application server. They assist CfA staff in setting up personal and project web pages and maintain all the top-level CfA public pages.

The Network Systems Group maintains and develops the CfA networking and telecommunications infrastructure.
