Lars E. Kristensen

I am a SubMillimeter Array (SMA) Fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. I make stars by assembling them one molecule at a time. Why? Because I grew up loving astronomy, wondering at what is out there, and because I cannot resist a challenge. Through my research I address the question of how stars like our own Sun form, both in nearby molecular clouds and in much more distant galaxies, and I do so by comparing observations to theoretical models, including ones I develop myself.
