Meetings for the new SWARM data pipeline and CASA for SMA data reduction

Try out the SWARM2CASA pipeline for SMA users

  • 2018-11-15 (Thursday) at 9:00am HST and 2:00pm EST

  • Room 240, 160 Concord Ave., Cambridge, MA

  • Agenda:
  • This is a special meeting concerning SMA SWARM data.

    • 1. wSMA specification
    • 2. Review SMA data format for online storage and RTDC archive
    • 3. Limits for data reduction software
    • 4. SMA observing modes
      • modeInfo
      • For example:
        rtdc9.cfa.harvard.edu: more /sma/data/science/mir_data/181103_02:55:10/modeInfo
        2 8
      • How many modes that SMA operation normally supports?
      • Do we have a document for the description of each code?
    • 5. Tsys variable table
      • tsys_read
      • For example:
        rtdc9.cfa.harvard.edu: ls /sma/data/science/mir_data/181103_02:55:10/tsys_read
        /sma/data/science/mir_data/181103_02:55:10/tsys_read
      • Give each antenna and each integration, how many independent measurements recorded across the spectrum?
      • Each receiver IF has an independent measurement?
      • Any technical memos available?
      • Or SMA wiki documents on this subject?
    • 6. Error alert system & online data
      • Do we have online error alert system?
      • Does the online data storage record the error information caused by hardware and online software systems as well as non-standard observing operations?
      • We will review data status and some necessary error information needed for the swarm2casa software for speeding up error identification and automatically fix data file errors by computers in our next next meeting for SMA data and SMA software for CASA reduction.
    • 7. Next meeting
      • Thursday (11/29) 2-3pm EST?
