To find our offices:

Discovery Park, fomerly known as Acorn Park, is located in the Fresh Pond area of Cambridge at the western end of the city where Cambridge borders Arlington and Belmont, near the Alewife T station and parking garage. Since incomplete signage, winding roads, and other factors make directions in Boston difficult even for long-time residents, you may prefer to either take a cab, or use public transit as described at the bottom of this page.

Once you have arrived at our building, since an ID is needed to gain access, you can call the 5-digit extension of the party you are visiting (e.g. 6-7777 if the phone number is 617-496-7777) on the wall phone in the foyer, or request the security guard to do so, to bring you up. To find your party's extension you can visit our people page.

If Driving:

Discovery Park is situated along the eastbound side of Route 2, which is a 2-lane, divided highway. No matter what your direction of approach, unless you are a Boston-driving guru you will eventually reach us via Route 2:

From Rt 2 Westbound

Coming from Cambridge, Boston, and Medford, find your way to the intersection of Rts 2, 16, and 3. From this complex intersection, follow Rt 2 west. Take the first exit (Lake Street). At the bottom of the ramp, turn left, following the signs for Acorn Park. Immediately after passing under the bridge, turn left. At the first traffic light turn right into Discovery Park.

From Rt 2 Eastbound

On Rt 2, Discovery Park is just after the Lake Street exit and just before the intersection of Rt 2 with Rts 3 and 16. After Lake Street, you will pass a motel and a bowling alley. At the bowling alley, exit right for the Alewife Station. The entrance to Discovery Park is a right turn from the exit ramp immediately after the red brick building. The distance between the bowling alley and the right turn into Discovery Park is about 100 yards. If you miss the right turn from the ramp into Discovery Park, continue on the ramp. Take the first left, which circles you back to the intersection of Rts 2, 3, and 16. Follow the Rt 2 westbound directions above.

Parking

Please take a validation ticket from the machine to open the gate. Before you leave the building, please ask the security guard to validate your ticket, then use it to exit the garage.

Specific Driving Directions:

From Logan International Airport

Option 1

From the airport, follow the signs for Boston/I-93 north. You will go through the Sumner Tunnel (toll). At the exit from the tunnel, take I-93 north. Exit I-93 at Rt 16 west, following the signs to Medford. Continue on Rt 16 to its intersection with Rt 2. Then follow the Rt 2 westbound directions above. Note that Rt 16 is a winding road, with two rotaries and several intersections.

Option 2

From the airport, follow the signs for Boston/I-93 north. You will go through the Sumner Tunnel (toll). At the exit from the tunnel, follow the signs for Storrow Drive. Continue on Storrow Drive for several miles - past MIT across the Charles River, past Boston University, and past Harvard. Somewhere along here Storrow Drive becomes Soldiers Field Road. Just past the Harvard boat house on the right, you will bear to the right and follow signs for Rts 2 and 3. After two rotaries, a shopping center, and the Alewife T Station, you will come to the intersection with Rt 16. Then follow the Rt 2 westbound directions above.

Option 3

From the airport, follow the signs to the Ted Williams tunnel (toll) and I-90 (I-90 is also the Massachusetts Turnpike). Exit the Mass. Pike at the Allston Exit. Immediately after the toll booths, take the exit ramp to the right (towards Cambridge). You'll then see two traffic lights. In the short distance between the lights, move to the left lane in preparation for a left turn. Turn left (just before crossing the bridge) onto an access road. Proceed straight at the next traffic light, which puts you on the entrance ramp to Soldiers Field Road. (If you happen to go over the Charles River, take the first left, which is Memorial Drive. Follow it until you see signs for Rts 2 and 3 west. Then pick up the directions four sentences from here.) After making the left, you are driving between and parallel to Soldiers Field Road and the Charles River. Go through the next light after which you will join Soldiers Field Road. Get into the middle lane (the right lane exits to Harvard Square). Just past the Harvard boat house on the right, you will bear to the right and follow signs for Rts 2 and 3. After two rotaries, a shopping center, and the Alewife T Station, you will come to the Rt 16 intersection. Then follow the Rt 2 Westbound directions above.

From North/Northeast of Boston

Find your way to I-93 south. Exit at Rt 16 towards Medford. Follow Rt 16 west to its intersection with Rt 2. Then follow the Rt 2 westbound directions above. Note Rt 16 is a winding road, with two rotaries and several intersections.

From Northwest/West/South of Boston

Find your way to I-95 (which, west of Boston, is also Rt 128). Follow I-95 either north or south (depending on where you start) to Rt 2 east towards Cambridge. Then follow the Rt 2 eastbound directions above.

Via "T" Red Line Subway

The subway in Boston is also known as the "T." It has four color-coded lines: Red, Green, Orange, and Blue. One terminus of the Red line is the Alewife Station, which is less than a 10-minute walk from our building. The Red Line also stops at Harvard and Porter Square stations, and downtown at Park Street, Downtown Crossing, and South Station (where most long-distance trains and busses terminate). After exiting the T at Alewife, go up the stairs/escalators, through the turnstiles, past Dunkin Donuts, out the doors and up the steps to the Passenger Pick-up area. The street in front of you is the Alewife Station Access Road from Route 2. Turning to the right, walk along the access road towards Route 2. At the end of the building, there is a traffic island. Cross the street to that island and then to the sidewalk on the other side. There is a crosswalk here. The sidewalk will cross a bridge (Note: the vehicle traffic is coming one-way towards you) and you will come to a set of metal poles that mark the entrance to a path on your left. Walk to the end of this path and go straight down the road towards the grey/glass building at the end of the road. The front door is located on Wim Way.
