Survey Specs
For full survey details, please see Battersby et al. 2020: CMZoom: Survey Overview and First Data Release. The survey will allow for: (i) a complete census of the most massive and dense cloud cores; (ii) the location, strength and nature of strong shocks; (iii) the relationship of star formation to environmental conditions such as density, shocks, and large-scale flows.
- 550 hours of Submillimeter Array Compact Array and Subcompact Array Observations
- Complemented with single-dish data from APEX (lower side-band), and BGPS (dust continuum)
- 230 GHz (1.3 mm)
- Area observed is selected by column density. We have observed ~350 sq. arcminutes above N(H2) = 10^23 cm-2 over the entire CMZ or 3x10^22 cm-2 in select regions.
- 3'' (0.1 pc) resolution, Δ v~1.1 km/s
- dust continuum + spectral lines (H2CO, 12CO, 13CO, C18O, SiO, CH3OH, CH3CN, etc.): 8+ GHz bandwidth
- 3 mJy RMS continuum, 0.4 K
