Ozone profiles, tropospheric, stratospheric, and stratospheric column ozone from July 1995 to June 2003 are available. Monthly mean data gridded at 2.5-degree longitude x 2-degree latitude in IDL xdr/save format can be found here.  If you are interested in using the level 2 data or monthly mean data gridded at 1 x 1, please contact Xiong Liu.

Ozone profiles and tropospheric ozone are derived from backscattered radiances in the ultraviolet spectra (290-340 nm) measured by the nadir-viewing Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment using the optimal estimation.  Global distribution of tropospheric column ozone is directly retrieved for the first time from space.  Please see more details about the algorithm, validation, and the global distribution of tropospheric column ozone in the above five papers. Figure 1 shows an orbit of retrieved ozone profiles in terms of partial column ozone at 24 ~2.5 km layers. See ozone hole (~120 DU) in the Anatarctic and ozone maximum outside the polar vortex, and enhanced tropospheric ozone over Indonesia and Southern mid-latitudes due to biomass burning.

Figure 2 shows an example of global distribution of tropospheric column ozone for the same period. See enhanced tropospheric column ozone of 40-60 DU over Indonesia, South Atlantic, South Africa, South America and the Southern mid-latitudes.

Figure 3 shows a movie of monthly mean tropospheric column ozone (with NCEP tropopause) from July 1995 to June 2003.
