Hydra is down for emergency maintenance as of
Monday, May 18, 2026 at 08:00 ET. We anticipate that the shutdown will
last until the end-of-day Wednesday, May 20. Every cluster service
will be affected: login nodes, compute nodes, Globus, the R Studio
Server, and storage access.
We will apply a kernel security update on every host on the
cluster. Rolling it into the next regular maintenance cycle would
leave the cluster exposed longer than is acceptable.
During that time all logins will remain disabled,
and there will be no
access to any files stored on Hydra.
