Travel Information

Route from NARITA Airport to SENDAI

The easiest way to Sendai is to take a JR-line Narita Express train to Tokyo. (JR stands for Japanese Railway.) You can purchase a Narita Express boarding ticket at the JR station located on the underground level at Narita Airport. You can also purchase a Shinkansen (the famous bullet train) ticket for either a reserved or non-reserved seat at Narita Airport JR Station. (I strongly recommend you take a reserved seat. The difference in fare is a nominal 710 yen.) This will entitle you to continue traveling from Tokyo to Sendai without making a separate purchase at the crowded Tokyo Station. It takes about 10 minutes on foot to transfer at Tokyo Station, i.e. from the Narita Express boarding area to the Shinkansen boarding area. Please note that the main exit of Sendai Station and the bus pool for the conference-related directions are located westside.
