There it is! By carefully subtracting the two images using powerful
computer software, we make the process of finding supernovae much easier.
Below is a recent picture (Nov 13, 2000)
from the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) of this
supernova. Because it has significantly better resolution than
telescopes on the ground, HST can clearly separate the supernova and its
host galaxy. |
