COPY and PASTE the full name of your image file here:

This tells the computer the name of your star, and the exact time your image was taken. Example: TRES3-091023030913.FITS is for the star TRES3. The image was taken October 23, 2009 at 3 hr. 09 minutes 13 seconds, Universal Time.)

ENTER the relative brightness you measured for your star:

(This is the brightness of your star compared to a reference star or stars in your image. Make sure to include at least three significant digits. You'll be looking for a small change in brightness!)

COPY and PASTE a table of your measurements here:

(Paste the table from your Word or Excel document, or paste directly from the MicroObservatory Image measurement program. But be sure you have included the filename of the image, and that your data are in the format shown below.)

Be sure to use the format shown here.

The computer will run the calculations for you and plot your data.

Use this mode only when you have too much data to process by hand.
