Run Miriad

After installation of the Miriad package, one may need to set the environment. Assuming in a C-shell in a Linux system, then type:
setenv  MIR  /home/miriad/miriad_cvs   %assuming that MIRIAD
                                       %has been installed under
                                       %/home/miriad/miriad_cvs
source $MIR/MIRRC.linux
set path = ($MIRBIN $path)
One may add the above three lines in .cshrc instead.

Then one can enter Miriad by typing:

jove.cfa.harvard.edu% miriad

Then a prompt miriad% is popped up indicating that one has entered Miriad environment. The Miriad shell provides a user interface. There are a few useful Miriad commands in the Miriad front-end:
