Basic Information on uvcheck

Task: uvcheck
Purpose: Check uv-variable values, etc and flag uv-data.
Categories: uv analysis, checking, flagging

UVCHECK is a Miriad program to check uv-variable values
and flag uv-data if variables or data are out of range.
The default is to list the data
when the source, freq, or number of channels change.
The number of records, uvrange and time range are printed.
The statistics for a selected uv-variable can
be printed. uv-data can be flagged if the uv-variable,
the amplitude of a reference channel, the geometric delay,
or the fringe frequency is outside a specified range.
uvcheck does not handle systemp correctly unless you select
uvdata by antenna and line.

Key: vis
The input visibility file. No default.

Key: select
This selects which visibilities to be used. Default is
all visibilities. See the Users Guide for information about
how to specify uv-data selection.

Key: line
Linetype of the data in the format line, nchan, start, width, step
line must be either `channel' or `wide' for flagging data.
The default is all the channel data, and the wideband data.
Use line=wide to check only the wideband data.

Key: ref
Reference line for flagging data.
Allowed values are:
    channel,start,width
    wide,start,width
Default: no reference line.

Key:
refamp
Minimum and maximum values for the reference line amplitude.
Flag the uv-data when the reference amplitude
is OUTSIDE the selected range.
The flags are set to the value given by flagval.
Calibration files (gains and passband) are NOT applied.
Default: 0,1e20 i.e. don't flag any uv-data.

Key: flagval
set to either 'flag' or 'unflag' to flag the data.
Default: don't change the flags.

Key: var
Name of uv-variable to check. Default is none.
Print mean and rms values of variable WITHIN the selected range.
A histogram plot can be printed (options=histo).
Special variables calculated from other uv-variables:
1) var=uvdist, where uvdist is in nanosecs.
2) var=fringe, where fringe is the fringe frequency in Hz.

Key: range
Minimum and maximum values for uv-variable.
Flag the uv-data when the uv-variable is OUTSIDE this range.
Default range=-1E20,1E20. Note that in in order to flag
data within a selected range, first flag everything, then
unflag those outside the selected range.

Key: delayflag
Flag the uv-data for each baseline if the absolute value of the
difference in the delay lines is less than the specified value.
Default delayflag=0.d0 does not flag any uv-data.

Key: log
The output log file. Default is the terminal.

Key: options
Extra processing options. Possible values are:
  debug Print more output
  histo Print histogram
