Investigative Materials About Global Environments
Project IMAGE was designed to introduce post-elementary students to Earth satellite images and how they can be used to interpret various aspects of the environment. The Project IMAGE manual was a collection of 17 activities using high-quality images to address different environmental issues around the world. Students used simple equipment (rulers, magnifiers, grids) to interpret the images. Project IMAGE: A Manual of Image-based Activities Concerning Our Planet, and accompanying teacher's guide was published in 1997, but was discontinued in 2003 due to the proliferation of image-based resources available on the web.
