Project ESTEEM was funded (in 1989) by the National Science Foundation for three years. During that time the project provided teacher enhancement, activities/materials development and evaluation, and network support for earth science teachers in grades 7-9. One hundred nine teachers attended the three summer institutes conducted under the grant. They, in turn, have presented a total of 537 workshops to date, reaching nearly 5,100 teachers, over 20% of all earth science teachers in the nation.
