This is a composite of four of the so-called "superbeam" surveys published in the original "Composite CO Survey of the Entire
Milky Way" (Dame et al. 1987). The effective angular resolution and grid spacing of these surveys is 1/2°, so they should only be used as a last resort. The area covered by the other superbeam surveys has largely been reobserved at higher resolution and sensitivity by other surveys in this archive, or by on-going observations with the CfA telescope.
