| The 6.5-m MMT was dedicated more than a decade ago and since that time the Observatory has evolved through different stages of performance, capability and leadership. I will present an overview, from my perspective as the new Director, of the current state of the Observatory and its future direction. I will provide some insight into daily operations including current and future staffing and how issues are addressed and resolved on a daily basis. I will discuss the prioritization of engineering activities and highlight select examples of ongoing and future projects. Finally, I will present results and lessons learned from the 2010 aluminization of the primary mirror and aluminization plans for 2012. |
