The sixteenth annual conference on Data Analysis Software and Systems
returned to its place of origin, Tucson, from October 15 to 18 this year.
Themes of the meeting included dealing with very large data sets, such
as those which will someday be produced by the LSST, the SKA, and Gaia,
architectures for data pipelines, and data archives. The Virtual Observatory
is part of a majority of the projects discussed. As usual, there
were several interesting presentations on useful software and techniques.
The data reduction pipelines for the MMT Hectospec and Hectochelle spectrographs (subject of a poster at the conference) will be discussed, as will the status of various optical data archive projects at the Center for Astrophysics, which were discussed in BoF meetings at the conference. Other attendees are encouraged to contribute their opinions and summaries of the papers they gave. |
