Planet Formation and the GMT

In the last two decades, the discoveries of the Kuiper belt, debris disks, and extrasolar planets have revolutionized our understanding of planet formation. A decade from now, the GMT will provide a new set of amazing views of our origins. Here, I will describe several unsolved problems in planet formation and illustrate how GMT will help to solve them.
