The Canadian Galactic Plane Survey is providing a dataset of images of the major constituents of the ISM with the aim of improving our understanding of physical states and interactions. Images of high dynamic range are being generated with arcminute angular resolution along a strip of the Galactic plane between 70 and 145 degrees longitude and -3.5 and +5.5 degrees latitude. The atomic hydrogen is imaged by the DRAO Synthesis Telescope, 12CO by the FCRAO telescope. The dust component is seen in IRAS data reprocessed by IPAC (60 and 100 microns) and by CITA, Toronto (12 and 25 microns). Radio continuum data at 1420 and 408 MHz from DRAO and 151 MHz data from Cambridge show the ionized and relativistic components.
This talk will show new results from the Survey including: disk-halo interactions, superbubbles, new data on the magneto-ionic medium, and new studies of cold atomic gas in absorption.
