Localized electron density perturbations in an ultralong-range, homonuclear rubidium Rydberg molecule create a measurable permanent electric dipole moment. The perturbations are due to high angular momentum electronic states that are mixed with a highly excited spherically symmetric electronic state. W. Li et al., Science 334, 1110-1114 (2011).
